Reid Newton Grant Obituary Sep 6, 2026- Franklin, AR Death: Viola Community Mourns Beloved 18-Year-Old

Reid Newton Grant had a gift for making people feel welcome. Remembered for his laughter, determination, faith and unmistakable personality, Reid leaves behind a circle of family and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him. He died on September 6, 2026, at the age of 18.

Born May 29, 2008, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, Reid was the son of Dennis Logan Grant and Kristi Newton and the younger brother of Devin. He attended Viola School from kindergarten through his graduation in May 2026, sharing a close bond with his brother that included friendship, rivalry and plenty of mischief.

Those who knew Reid described him as someone who never met a stranger. He cherished his friendships, listened to others and remained determined when he set his mind to something. From a young age, he was also known as a hard worker.

Most recently, Reid worked as an intern at NAEC in Salem while attending ASU-Newport, where he was pursuing a degree in High Voltage Line Technology. His faith was equally important to him, and he attended Viola Solid Rock Assembly.

Reid is survived by his mother, Kristi Newton, father Dennis Logan Grant, brother Devin, extended family and countless friends. His maternal grandparents Richard and Peggy Newton and paternal grandmother Karen Morrell preceded him in death.

The circumstances and cause of Reid’s death have not been publicly confirmed in the official obituary.

Though his life was brief, Reid’s laughter, faith, humor and generous spirit will remain in the memories of everyone who knew him. His family has encouraged loved ones to remember the good times and continue living fully—a fitting tribute to a young man who made an unforgettable mark.
