Rain Laes brought a rare warmth to the people around her, leaving behind memories that will be cherished long after her final curtain call. The Menominee, Michigan, community is mourning the loss of the 16-year-old Menominee Junior/Senior High School student, whose life touched classmates, teachers, friends and family.
A junior at Menominee, Rain was deeply involved in the school community. She participated in marching band, where she played cymbals, and shared her talents on the stage through school theater productions. She appeared in the 2025 production of Chicago and the 2026 production of Heathers, where she portrayed Heather Duke.
Those who knew Rain through the Menominee High School Music Department remembered her as someone impossible to overlook. She could be both quiet and wonderfully expressive, with a beautiful singing voice, a warm smile and a sharp sense of wit and charm. Her presence had a way of making people feel comfortable, and her personality left a lasting impression.
