A Fairfax, Virginia, community is mourning after a 13-year-old Frost Middle School student was killed while riding a bicycle in a crash involving a large truck.
The fatal collision happened Wednesday afternoon, September 9, 2026, at about 2:32 p.m. in the 3900 block of Pickett Road, near a commercial shopping center in Fairfax City.
According to preliminary reports, the teenager was riding a bicycle when they were struck by a large box truck that was leaving the shopping center. The student suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
