Ethan Michael Andrews lived 23 years with a depth of curiosity and thought that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His intelligence, humor, creativity, and distinctive way of seeing the world made him someone whose absence will be deeply felt.
Ethan, of Butte, Montana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Butte. He was born November 25, 2002, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Curtis and Laurie Andrews and grew up in Butte.
An accomplished student, Ethan graduated as one of Butte High School’s valedictorians before earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with honors from the University of Utah. His interests reached far beyond academics. He explored technology, chess, politics, philosophy, Jiu Jitsu, and many other subjects with remarkable focus and enthusiasm.
Ethan was also an accomplished artist who found particular enjoyment in oil painting. He played chess and piano and treasured time spent with family and friends. Those who knew him remembered his wit and his willingness to question ideas, think deeply, and engage in meaningful conversations.
Ethan was preceded in death by his younger sister, Camille. He is survived by his parents, Curtis and Laurie; siblings Taylor, Evan, Cohen, and Jessica; and numerous relatives, friends, classmates, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1351 Mount Highland Dr., Butte, with guests welcomed beginning at 10 a.m.
Though his life was brief, Ethan’s remarkable mind and unmistakable spirit will continue to live on in the memories of those who loved him.
